She released a single the previous year called "Let Me Off at the Corner", which made the Top 40. She also recorded another one with Jim Reeves called "Love Is No Excuse", which became a hit after his death in 1964.The song was written in one day, according to West, who wrote along with her husband Bill West, and she then recorded it in Nashville.

Dottie West - Here Comes My Baby Lyrics

Here comes more tears to cry

Here comes more heartaches by

Here comes my baby, back again

Here comes more misery

Here comes old memories

Here comes my baby, back again

My arms are open wide to let more hurt inside

Here comes my baby back again

He's sorry once again, once more I'll understand

Here comes my baby, back again

My arms are open wide to let more hurt inside

Here comes my baby, back again

He's sorry once again, once more I'll understand

Here comes my baby, back again

Here comes my baby, back again
