New Relase Catherine Thompson "Western Serenade"

Catherine Thompson, a homeschool student and native of Georgia, is 16 and the youngest of 8 siblings. She enjoys traveling, the beauty of nature and wildlife. Animal husbandry is one of her hobbies. She especially enjoys caring for and riding horses. Catherine's music experience began at age 7 with piano lessons. Since then, she has taught herself to play guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass, and is currently working to play banjo and harmonica. Her singing debut occurred at age 8 on a cruise ship at a karaoke competition. She now sings western/country and some easy listening music. Catherine has been performing for the Booth Western Art Museum at their cowboy gatherings for the past 5 years. She also entertains at various festivals and events. She performed at the Western Music Association in New Mexico in November where she was acclaimed Female Yodeler of the Year. Her first album, "Western Serenade", featuring 12 western songs, was recently released.

Catherine played 9-string or 6-string guitar on all the tracks, classical guitar, and electric guitar one one track each as well as bass on all the tracks.

She also played the harmonica.  Mandolin was played by a friend of mine, Chris Firebaugh.

Neal Anderson played the hand percussion parts and the other percussion tracks were sampled.

She also played the piano part on Autumn on the Trail.

Everything except for sampled percussion was recorded here at  studio "Piano Forte Studios.  "
